Truffle Hunts

Discover the authentic taste of Umbria on a truffle hunt in the beautiful hills of a private, organic estate in the valley of Chiesa del Carmine.

Truffle hunting at the Carmine Estate takes place early in the morning in the warmer months of the year before it become too hot for both hunters and their dogs. Guests are collected from our winery,  Vineria del Carmine near La Bruna and follow the truffle hunter and his dog as they make their way through woodlands around the estate, so we recommend comfortable clothes and walking shoes.

After the truffle hunt guests return to our Vineria where one of our bilingual certified sommeliers will introduce you to our award-winning wines and provide a short history of the Estate, our wine-making philosophy and our vineyards. Also included is a tasting of our organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil and an explanation of the process behind this amazing product.  Visitors then enjoy a carefully selected menu of delicious Umbrian dishes matched by our chefs and sommeliers to our wines with a strong focus on truffles and seasonality.

We work with a number of local truffle hunters.  All are passionate hunters who enjoy foraging for mushrooms, picking wild asparagus and searching for truffles with their dogs.
